Brigadier General Scott E. Brower graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1989 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery. BG Brower later attended the Special Forces Qualification Course, with subsequent assignment to the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 1995 to 1998. BG Brower also attended the Naval Postgraduate School, earning a Master of Science degree in Defense Analysis, and the Command and General Staff College. He also attended the Air War College from 2009-2010.

BG Brower’s service has been almost exclusively in the special operations field, serving in a variety of command roles throughout his distinguished career. Three times BG Brower served in a leadership role of the Green Berets, most recently as commander of the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2011-13 at Fort Campbell. From 2004 to 2006, BG Brower was assigned to United States Special Operations Command, Tampa, Florida, where he served as the Executive Officer to Director, Center for Special Operations and as the CENTCOM Unconventional Warfare/Preparation of the Environment Desk Officer. Subsequently, he again served as the Group Executive Officer, followed by assignment as the J3 (Operations) for Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Arabian Peninsula. BG Brower also served as the Chief of Staff for the United States Army Special Operations Command, at Fort Bragg, from August 2013 to July 2014, followed by a deployment to Islamabad Pakistan, where he served as the Deputy for Operations, Office of Defense Representative – Pakistan.

BG Brower recently completed a year as acting Senior Commander of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell and will be deployed later this spring to Afghanistan as he continues his service to our nation! BG Brower has served in Operation DESERT STORM, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. BG Brower's awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal (1 OLC), the Legion of Merit (1 OLC), the Bronze Star (4 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Master Parachutist Badge.

BG Brower is married to the former Jennifer Sterling of Rockaway, New Jersey. They have two children.
